Just a quick note from Mum:
"Chukka was moved yesterday to the trauma ward. She was visited today by a physical therapist as well as the psychiatrist. Her attitude to change is positive. She is being served only solid food. No intravenous."
Magda got home after a very early flight. I think she will post in a day or two when she is rested.
There is still some surgery pending -- until that is all over, I'll certainly feel nervous. Nonetheless, progress is good. I'm in touch with the trauma coordinator at a hospital here, they're asking us to think ahead now. In some ways that's daunting -- there's a hard physical and emotional journey ahead, but as long as we're all in crisis mode, we don't have to think about it.

Love ya Pinemom and Titwi
Yay!!!
Can I send a small tube with a small poster? It's not exactly a card, but I think Chukka will likey... ;o)
Judy
Judy, I think now she's out of the ICU, you can send things that are a little bigger. Just remember that my mother will have to bring it all home somehow. There is still Chukka's luggage that she took on the trip.
There is quite a little pile of cards. Mum and I repacked things and -- assuming there is going to be the opportunity for Chukka to have luggage with her / luggage allowance on the medevac small items shouldn't be too bad, but there will be a real need to have things arrive once she is in hospital in the US too -- this is going to be a long, long haul.
Magda
Yes, once we get the go ahead on the medevac, I will try & post her here address as soon as she leaves, so that cards can get to the US hospital ASAP.
I am soo excited to hear about the move... (assuming Trauma beats ICU). I hope she is still getting the most excellent care and attention -
We are still here for you all!
Love, from Karine
We had some medical drama in my own household over the Memorial Day holiday, so getting good news here was an incredibly welcome breath of fresh air.
