Stefan in Munich will help out. I have contacted my mother in her layover and so she knows what we will be able to do. Her doctor's office is not open for another half an hour here.

Not sure if anyone has commented on this yet, but you might want to contact the US Embassy in Vienna to see if they can provide any assistance, or even Fishie's Congressional representative. Here's the contact info for the Embassy:
The American Citizen Services Section (ACS) assists people with passport renewal, registration of Americans living in Austria, birth reports for children of American citizens born in Austria, voter registration, income tax forms, notarial services and emergency service to American citizens.
